The Ministry of Environment is responsible for managing more than 37 million hectares of Crown resource land largely found in central and northern Saskatchewan, but with holdings throughout the province. Land is the very foundation of our natural environment. Crown resource and park lands are owned by all the people of Saskatchewan and managed on their behalf by the Ministry of Environment. Legislation, programs and policies are in place to ensure that Crown land is used in ways that respect environmental, economic and social values.

The ministry routinely consults with local residents, stakeholders, interest groups and Aboriginal people through comprehensive land use planning processes that provide a framework to guide long-term land and resource use allocation decision-making.
