Ministry Overview Public Review: The Saskatchewan Environmental CodeWe invite you to send us your comments and questions on the new Saskatchewan Environmental Code, the first of its kind in Canada. Discussion is welcome anytime but, for comments to be considered for version one of the code, please submit comments by March 16, 2012. You are invited to explore the new Saskatchewan Environmental Code in as much detail as you wish. A Discussion Document will give readers an overview of the new code and how it will work, and an understanding of the new results-based regulatory model that the code supports. A Code Summary goes into more detail, providing an explanation of each of the 19 chapters of version one of the code and what’s changed from the previous regulation. The full text the first edition of the code is available, for those who wish to explore the full detail of individual draft code chapters. In addition, public meetings focusing on specific sectors were held: Municipal Sector - Conexus Arts Centre, Regina, 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, January 30, 2012 Information Sessions with First Nations and Métis representatives were also held: Conexus Arts Centre, Regina, 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm, January 30, 2012 A presentation with background information on results based regulation, code development and content, and next steps was given.
